Allahudien Paleker walks away with two awards at #CSAawards2022
The Cricket South Africa (CSA) Umpire of the Year and Umpire’s Umpire of the Year awards went to Allahudien Paleker at the CSA virtual awards that took place earlier today.
What a season it has been for the man who made his Test debut at the Wanderers at the start of 2022, becoming the 497th Test Umpire and caps off a memorable season with CSA umpire of the year.
Paleker has also earned the respect of his colleagues for his character, professionalism and attitude both on and off the field, receiving the Umpires Umpire of the year award. A great achievement indeed.
“Allahudien Paleker a huge congratulations on your awards, two awards that are most definitely deserved. It's been a long journey to success. Your consistency, dedication, commitment, sacrifices and love for the game have contributed to your success today. Your mum would have been super proud of you today, I'm sure she is smiling down on you from heaven. May this wonderful journey continue for you. Super proud moment.” Paleker’s close friend and local sport analyst Nazeem Jaffer commented.
Keshav Maharaj and Ayabonga Khaka were named the 2021/22 SA Men’s and SA Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
