Three men linked to the theft of spare wheels of bakkies and SUV’s around the Laudium area were arrested on Sunday evening.
In a recent incident, a lookout for the vehicle, a white Hyundai H1 Reg HY ***** was circulated on Sunday when they attempted to steal a spare wheel from a Silver Toyota Hilux in Citroen Street.
A local resident who spotted the vehicle tipped-off Vision Tactical security on its whereabouts. Members of Vision Tactical spotted the Hyundai H1 on the R55 and when they followed the vehicle, the vehicle sped off. They gave chase into Itireleng and managed to apprehend three suspects.
The vehicle was searched and tools used in theft out of motor vehicles were found.
Local resident Tahir Moosa welcomed the arrest. “The same vehicle was used in March this year when a spare wheel was stolen from a bakkie in Agra Street. Well done Vision Tactical.”
