Armed Robbery in Bengal Street, Two Injured, Laudium CPF Assists with Recovery of Vehicles

An armed robbery took place in Bengal Street, Extension 3, Laudium, earlier today, leaving two people injured and hospitalized. Approximately 6 to 8 armed suspects gained access to the home through the open field leading to Atteridgeville.


The suspects, who were armed, attacked the family at gunpoint, stealing two Toyota GD6 bakkies.


Both vehicles were recovered in Atteridgeville and are now secured at the Atteridgeville Police Station.


The Laudium CPF has extended its gratitude to Cartrack, the GTW Saturation Unit, and their Response Teams for their prompt action. The CPF has also announced plans to discuss further interventions with Laudium SAPS regarding the rise in vehicle theft incidents in the area.


"We are thankful that no lives were lost during the incident," said the Laudium CPF. "We urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or vehicles in the Bengal Street/open field area immediately to Laudium SAPS.


The community is advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation.
