A 41 year old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning for possession of suspected stolen property.
Police were conducting normal routine stop and search around Laudium, when a suspicious man was seen walking along Brown street carrying a school bag.
Upon searching the bag, an Exide motor vehicle battery, one small spanner, a screw driver, small umbrella and one pair of brown North star takkie was found in the bag which he couldn't account for.
The suspect was immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.
In a separate incident, Five suspects aged between 18 and 52 years old were arrested for assault GBH (grievous bodily harm).
Laudium SAPS Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Margaret Nkwane applauded members of South African Police Service for a job well done and also encouraged members to continue with the good work, which is to fight crime in our community.
Community are urged to report any suspicious motor vehicles or persons to the police without fear on 0860010111 or the local police station number.
The South African Police Service will continue with more visibility and stop and searches.

Suspects arrested will appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate court soon.
