On Sunday, May 12th, 2024, the Hasware family hosted a deeply spiritual and uplifting event to reveal the Fatawa of their late patriarch, the honourable Allamah Moulana Mufti Mohammed Ali Hasware. Held at the Al Ghazali Hall in Erasmia, Pretoria, the ceremony was described as a magnanimous celebration of a life devoted to knowledge and faith.
The program director, Mahomed Iqbal Hasware meticulously outlined the pious lineage of the Hasware family, highlighting the esteemed roles of both father and son as Aalims and guardians of the faith. Mohideen Hasware, the son of Mufti Hasware, undertook the monumental task of compiling his father's judicial rulings and legal reflections which is comprised of 33 fatawa into the book titled ‘Fatawa Aswari’, which has already garnered an overwhelming response from the public. He intends publishing Fatawa Aswari part two in time to come.

The launch event saw an array of esteemed guests, including family, friends, and community members, who gathered to honor the legacy of Mufti Mohammed Ali Hasware. The attendees were warmly welcomed and Mahomed Iqbal Hasware emphasized the significance of celebrating the life and contributions of Mufti Hasware.
The event commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Hafez Haazim Ebrahim, followed by poetry in praise of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalaho Alayhi Wasallam by Husein Ahmed Hasware and a manqabat by Hafez Muhammed Ameen Gafoor, all descendants of the late Mufti.

Moulana Ahmed Mukadam, who had the privilege of spending considerable time with Mufti Mohammed Ali Hasware, spoke fondly of his mentor's wisdom, wit, and hospitality. He shared anecdotes of Mufti Hasware's passion for gardening, particularly his fondness for cultivating coriander (danya) in his home garden and generously sharing it with visitors.
Mufti Mohammed Ali Hasware's life journey, from his humble beginnings in Panderi, India, to his academic pursuits and eventual relocation to South Africa, was recounted with reverence. His dedication to scholarship and spiritual enlightenment left an indelible mark on those he encountered, as evidenced by the numerous community members who sought his guidance and counsel.
Hafez Muhammed Ameen Gafoor
On January 28, 1985, Mufti Hasware peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of knowledge, compassion, and devotion to the faith. His profound influence continues to resonate through his family, comprising eight children - Mariam, Fatima, Goolam Mohideen, Zubeida, Aisha, Ebrahim, Kulsoom and Yusuf (deceased), 24 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren, who carry forward his teachings and ideals.
The launch of Fatawa Aswari serves not only as a tribute to Mufti Mohammed Ali Hasware's illustrious life but also as a testament to his enduring legacy, which will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come. Through the grace and mercy of Allah, his wisdom and teachings will continue to guide and enrich the lives of believers around the world.
