Surveillance cameras roll out in Laudium and Itireleng to enhance safety
Ward 61 Councillor Naeem Patel and Shaheen Wahab, Chairperson of the Laudium Community Police Forum (CPF), has welcomed the installation of surveillance cameras in Laudium and Itireleng. This initiative follows engagements between the CPF and the Department of Community Safety and Security.
"This marks phase 1 of the project, and we are hopeful that these cameras will play a significant role in curbing crime in our area," said Wahab. "We appreciate the efforts of Premier Lesufi and the Department in working with us to enhance safety and security in our community."
"These cameras are a vital step towards securing our community. It's an initiative that's long overdue, and I'm glad to see it finally becoming a reality." Chairman of Laudium Gating Committee Aniel Soma told Laudium Today.
