Dog rescued from Laudium storm water drain

A dog has been safely rescued from a storm water drain in Himalaya street in Laudium after being trapped for several hours. 

Rescue personnel from Safe-T-Med Africa, Laudium Disaster Management and members of PAJ Community Patrollers were alerted to the incident shortly after 17:00 on Sunday afternoon. 

According to Safe-T-Med Africa spokesperson, Mojoe Cassim, rescue personnel managed to gain entry to the drain shortly before 19:00 and safely rescued the terrified animal. 

According to reports, the dog fell into the uncovered manhole due to the manhole cover being stolen.
