An Eldoglen resident was accosted in her house by two men on Friday afternoon, 11 September and robbed of cash.
In a statement released by the Chairman of the security committee, it said, "The two men together with another man with a vehicle, indicated that they were going to do a delivery at an address other than that of the victim. A resident of the address given by them, allowed access to them after being called from the main gate. On a number of previous occasions, the same men with the same vehicle, in the capacity of a courier service, delivered bank cards to another address close to the address of the victim. They left the estate almost simultaneously with the security vehicle leaving the security office to investigate the call reporting the robbery. Fortunately, the vehicle and the perpetrators were traced and recognized by means of the access control cameras and the internal street cameras. Footage of the previous dates on which the cards were delivered, show that the same three people were in the vehicle."
It appears that the suspects acted on specific and inside information.
The victim, a female resident was severely traumatised.
Eldoglen residents are urged to ensuring that the people they give access to are the correct persons and this incident emphasises the problems which can be created when residents bypassing the security rules of the estate.
