An Erasmia domestic worker is recovering in a Tshwane hospital after being seriously injured during a dog attack on Tuesday evening.
According to Safe-T-Med Africa spokesperson, Mojoe Cassim, the victim who is employed at a Van Dyk street residence was attacked by a pair of pitbull terriers.
Emergency medical personnel summoned to the scene initially failed to gain access to the premises due to safety concerns.
Following the arrival of local police at the residence, members of Laudium Disaster Management and emergency medical personnel from Safe-T-Med Africa managed to gain access to the premises and initiated emergency care prior to safely evacuating the victim from the premises.
The victim was stabilised on scene by paramedics prior to being transported to a nearby medical facility by ambulance.
After consultation with the homeowner, both the dogs were removed from the premises.
