Erasmia residents urged to be vigilant after daylight robbery and assault

 

Two Erasmia residents have been robbed of their cell phones and other possessions after being accosted by three black males who emerged from a nearby field.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 AM on Monday morning at the intersection of Verster and Lenchen streets in Erasmia.

According to reports, the local residents were sitting in their vehicle when they were attacked by three assailants wearing blue overalls.

The suspects demanded valuables, assaulted one of the victims with a knife and fled the scene.

The area is known to be frequented by local youths for recreational purposes.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the SAPS by calling the 10111 emergency number.

The incident is being investigated by local authorities.
