Exploring Business Potential: Minara Chamber hosts Mauritius Economic Development Board for Discussion on Opportunities

The Minara Chamber of Commerce Gauteng branch hosted the Mauritius Economic Development Board (EDB) at the Dawsons restaurant at the Al Ghazali in Erasmia to discuss business opportunities in Mauritius.

 

The Chamber was established in 2000 to assist and represent South African businesses with the aim of promoting business development and economic growth with local and international role players.


The Minara Chamber creates networking opportunities, by hosting inbound and outbound trade missions.


Dr Prega Ramsamy the Counselor of Economic matters for Africa at the Mauritius High Commission in South Africa, shared some information on opportunities for South Africans obtaining different visa options, such as residential, retirement, business, etc.


Mr Geerish Bucktowonsing, a Director at the Economic Development Board (EDB) based in Mauritius gave a detailed insight on stats of the population, different cultures, differents sectors to trade into as well as opportunities for South Africans doing business in the manufacturing sector in Mauritius.


Asgar Mahomed, the Deputy Vice President of the Minara Chamber of Commerce, stated that the event was successful with lots of interest from the attendees which are exploring opportunities to set up businesses as well as taking the retiring packages in Mauritius.
