Four suspects have been arrested in Danville, Pretoria West, during a joint operation targeting a group allegedly linked to more than 17 hijacking cases, as well as kidnappings and armed robberies in Pretoria West, Laudium and surrounding areas.
The suspects were allegedly using a Nissan Micra to carry out the crimes. The vehicle was spotted and intercepted by the operational team, resulting in the arrest of all four occupants.
Police recovered three unlicensed firearms, ammunition, false registration plates, stained money and cellphones.
The Nissan Micra was impounded for further investigation, while the suspects were detained on multiple charges.
The operation involved SAPS Gauteng Highway Patrol, Gauteng TRT, Pretoria West Detectives, CAP Specialised Operations and Tracker Connect, supported by private security teams.
Further investigations are underway.
