Gender-Based Violence and Femicide dialogue held in Laudium

Laudium Social Crime Prevention Unit, Victim Empowerment Centre, ANC Members of Parliament, ANC Women’s League Ward 61 Branchand Kopano Manyano NPO held a dialogue on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide in Laudium on Wednesday morning in an effort to curb the scourge.

Women were informed about gender-based violence and femicide and were encouraged to report any sort of criminal activities within the community to the police without fear.  

Information was given about the services rendered by the police and they were assured that assistance to victims is provided by the various entities within the police.

Community were further reminded to wear masks, sanitize and keep social distance between one another to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community were given information on how and where to report criminal activities. They were urged to be the eyes and ears of the police and dial the 0860 010 111 number or the Laudium Police on 0123749856/7.

Constable Simon Chokoe said, "Together we can save lives.”
