Police were out in full force during an intergrated operation on Friday night 13 November 2020.
Local Community Policing Forum, Laudium Disaster Management and local Security companies formed a part of the intergrated operation. Councillor Farouk Essop joined in as well.
The operation utilized its resources to curb violent crimes in Laudium and Erasmia showing policing presence after hospot areas were identified.
High police visibility was welcomed and acknowledged by local residents of both areas.
During the operation, five shebeens were closed for operating without licences, alcohol was confiscated and owners were immediately arrested and issued with fines.
Both Staion Commanders of Erasmia and Laudium SAPS Lt Col Mokgoetsi and Lt Col Nkoana has welcomed the partnership between the Police and the involved stakeholders as they share the same sentiment under the banner "Lets make our Communities free of Crime". They have encouraged locals to work with the Police.
