A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Mr SV Mathibela, SAPS said on Wednesday.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday afternoon for the killing which took place earlier that morning, SAPS spokesman Sergeant Simon Chokoe said.
“It is alleged that the deceased was stabbed to his upper body and died on scene.”
“The motive behind the killing is currently unknown.”
The suspect appeared at the Atteridgeville Magistrate Court yesterday. The case has been postponed to Monday, 14 June 2021 awaiting a second suspect who handed himself over to police in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo.
Laudium SAPS Acting Station Commander, Capt Solomon Monyamane applauded members of the community for their continuous partnership with the police on fighting crime.
Acting Station Commander further applauded his members for the investigation that led to the arrest of the suspect.
