The Darul Uloom Pretoria, with support from various other local religious organisations and responsible members of the community - arranged a Juloos (March) in honour of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on the 12th of Rabi Ul Awwal (the 3rd month in the Islamic Calendar). This day marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)
Members of the community came in their numbers to attend this -the 21st annual Juloose Eid Miladun Nabi - organized by Darul Uloom Pretoria in Laudium. Led by Ulama from in and around Pretoria, students of the institute and members of the community followed in a large collection of walking individuals as well as a motorcade as far as the eye could see.
The deputy principal, Hafiz Mohammad Ismail Hazarvi, welcomed the attendees and outlined the COVID-19 safety protocols that were in place for this march. The attendees were engaged in the praises of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) throughout this journey and were led an enthusiastic and vibrant group including Mufti Usman Sulehri, Mufti Abdul Hafeez, Moulana Shakir Ali, Hafiz Haider Ali, Hafiz Shakir Sapa, Afsar Ali and others.
The principal, Mufti Mohammad Akbar Hazarvi guided the procession and communicated the virtues, blessings and importance of standing in the honour of the Prophet (PBUH) to the attendees.
The event was significant for a multitude of reasons. One that stood out was a show of support for Muslims around the world and mobilisation in standing against those that seek to sow discord among Muslims by insulting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). To this end, both the Principal and Deputy principal, urged Muslims to remain peaceful in their demonstrations against the French Presidents open Islamophobic behaviour and strictly Boycott ALL French Products in protest to the French Presidents behaviour and the general treatment of Muslims in France
