The Laudium Community Policing Forum (CPF) has achieved an impressive 98% score in the Gauteng Provincial CPF assessment for Quarter 4 (January to March 2025). This remarkable feat secures the CPF's position as the 2nd highest-performing CPF in Gauteng and the top performer in the Northern Corridor.
According to the Gauteng Department of Community Safety, the assessment evaluated CPFs across the province using the CPF Performance Index, which measures oversight, crime prevention programs, community patroller management, stakeholder engagement, and administration.
Laudium CPF excelled in all areas, particularly in oversight, stakeholder engagement, and administration, where they scored full marks. The community patrollers also played a significant role in the CPF's success.
The CPF's achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its members, as well as the support of the community. Residents' participation in attending meetings, reporting crime, and volunteering has been instrumental in making Laudium a benchmark for community policing.
The CPF plans to build on this success by focusing on boosting patroller coordination, expanding youth and neighbourhood safety programs, and strengthening partnerships with SAPS and businesses.
In a statement, the Laudium CPF expressed gratitude to its patrollers, SAPS, and every resident who supports their efforts, saying, "This victory is yours too! Let's keep building a safer, united Laudium."
