Laudium Police secure the conviction of a murderer

Dedicated Sergeant Nelson Mashala of Laudium SAPS was able to secure the conviction of Sthonga David Mvimvia for murder.


Sthonga David Mvimvia (64) is set to spend six years in prison for murder which took place in Laudium in September 2019.


The sentence was handed down at the Atteridgeville Magistrates Court on the 15th of September 2020.


In a separate incident, Sergeant Julia Nhlatleng also from the detective branch managed to secure the conviction of Ashwin Valoo who is set to spend four months in prison or R1500.00 fine.


In other incidents, thorough investigation let do the arrest of a 34 year old man for malicious damage to property. 


Two males aged 30 and 33 were arrested for common assault on Tuesday afternoon.


Another two suspects aged 31 and 32 were arrested for possession of drugs on the same afternoon.


Laudium SAPS Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Margaret Nkwane expressed her excitement for the continuous good work at the Detective branch conducted under the leadership of Acting branch Commander Captain Manqcina.


Laudium SAPS Station Commander further stated that criminals will no longer be roaming freely in Laudium, as police are squeezing crime out of our Community. 


Suspects arrested appeared in the Atteridgeville Magistrates court.
