The incident occurred on Wednesday at 7:45pm on the corner of Indigo and 19th Avenue.
Fareed Aboo was approached by four armed men (three black and one indian) who smashed his passenger window and got inside his VW Citi Golf.
They then drove away with him and he was later taken to a house in Lotus Gardens where he was severely beaten up.
A search party within the community and security companies Vision Tactical and Emergency & Rescue SA, CPF and LDM was put together to look out. Community members drove throughout Gauteng in search for Fareed.
Shortly after midnight, volunteers of Laudium Disaster Management Nabawi and Dayaan Jaffer together with Amesh Ramjee spotted Fareed walking at the entrance of Lotus Gardens.
Fareed was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Fareed is currently in ICU.
Family spokesperson Imtiaz Mohamed said, "On behalf of the Kismet family we want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts. The community stood with us and through the blessings of God he is safe. We can't thank everyone enough for all your efforts and prayers. Thank you Thank you Thank you."
A case of hijacking was opened at the Laudium Police Station.
