A brazen hijacking occurred outside the KFC in Laudium on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The victim, a resident from Primrose Street, was approached by unknown suspects, hijacked at gunpoint, and driven around for several hours.

The Laudium Community Policing Forum (CPF), Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens, and SAPS launched a coordinated search operation, scouring areas in Atteridgeville and Lotus Gardens. Both the victim and vehicle weren't found at these locations.

The victim was abandoned in Brits, where he made his way to the local police station and was later reunited with his family in Laudium. Unfortunately, the vehicle remains missing, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Laudium CPF commends the dedication and efforts of its members, law enforcement agencies, and supporting units involved in the operation. "We also appreciate the community's support and vigilance during this distressing time."

"We urge everyone to remain alert and continue working with law enforcement to ensure our community's safety. Let's look out for each other and report any suspicious activity."
