A woman was killed and four others injured, including a young boy who was airlifted by Netcare911 in a collision between two cars on the M26 in Laezonia.
Laudium Disaster Management amongst other services were called out to scene around 3pm on Sunday afternoon. On arrival, paramedics assessed the driver of one of the vehicles and found that she had unfortunately passed away before their arrival. A young boy was airlifted by Netcare911 in a critical condition and teenage girl transported to a nearby facility in a serious but stable condition.
According to CERT-SA, two other people sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby medical facility in a stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding the incident is currently unknown and will be investigated.
