Laudium SAPS Acting Station Commander, Acting Vispol, Social Crime prevention / Communications, Sector Managers, Local Councillors Office, Department of Community Safety representative and a representative from Provincial CPF were on foot in the Hills and Nkandla section of the Itireleng informal settlement to ensure that the community feel safe.

While walking, the team engaged with members of the community.

Last week the same community gathered at the Laudium police station in protest against corrupt police officers.

They complained about the high crime in the area, illegal firearms, bribery, poor service and a deficient police station.

Sergeant Simon Chokoe said police will continue to visit and patrol all sections in Itireleng to prevent crime.

The community can report crime and any other illegal activities to 0860 010 111 or 012 374 9846/7.
