It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Terrence Peters' passing. He was a beloved figure in both the teaching and soccer communities, leaving a lasting impact on those he touched. Peters who was born on 22 April 1960, was a dedicated educator, having served at various schools throughout his career, and his contribution to the education fraternity will be remembered.
In addition to his teaching career, Peters was a talented soccer player, representing Laudium at both district and provincial levels. He played for several teams, including Swaraj FC, Birds FC, Aces FC, and Young Eagles FC.
Daya Chetty wrote, “Terrence Peters was an outstanding Mathematics educator at Himalaya Secondary for many years. He later was an educator and member of Management at CBC Old Boys in Silverton. Recently Principal at Iona Convent School. Besides his contribution to the education fraternity he was also a gifted football player representing Laudium at district and provincial level. Played in the former Federation professional League for Swaraj FC, Birds FC and Semi Pro teams like Aces FC and Young Eagles FC.

“In the early days of his career, the late Terence was on the staff of Laudium Primary and in 1987 was a member of my staff at Hillside Primary. He was an affable, ever smiling personality who enjoyed teaching his scholars . He always volunteered for extra curricular duties especially for sports activities. A dedicated teacher gone too soon. Sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the Peters and extended families on their sad and irreparable loss. May the Lord rest his dear soul in eternal peace.” Pravin Daya

The funeral service will take place on Monday 13 November 2023 at the St Thomas Catholic Church in Laudium between 09:00 & 10:30 thereafter proceed to the Krugersdorp Crematorium.
