Safer Festive Season Operation launched in Laudium

South African Police Service in Laudium in conjunction with local the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Laudium Disaster Management, local security companies and Councillor Farouk Essop officially launched a safer festive season operation on 1st avenue next to KFC. 


Roadblocks at all the entrances and more visibility patrol around the shopping centre were conducted to ensure that the communities are and feel safe during this coming festive season and beyond.


Motorists were advised not to leave valuable items exposed in the vehicles and to ensure that the doors of their vehicles are locked.


In a separate incident, stop and search operation continued at Itireleng informal settlement.

Two illegal liquor outlets were shut down and two males aged 19 and 40 years were arrested for selling liqour without licence.


Laudium SAPS Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Margaret Nkwane applauded and welcomed all stakeholders involved in the fight against crime.


Station Commander further urged the community to continue their partnership with the police.

“Together we can create a safer community.” She added.


Suspects arrested will appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate court soon.
