Laudium Cancer Care has completed 33 yrs of service to the community this year as they move into another year of intended care and dedication towards patients and their families.
This annual year end function hosted by the Cancer Care volunteers, is something they are very passionate about. It provides volunteers with an opportunity to acknowledge and reward patients for their perseverance and to also promote support and awareness of the challenges they may face in the year ahead.
This year patients were entertained with a hilarious comedian, beautiful young dancers, treated to a scrumptious three course meal, spoilt with lavish gifts of love and awarded their talents with wonderdul prizes, while volunteers rejoiced in the laughter and happiness they expressed.
"We would like to thank those members of the community who sponsored towards our entertainment, food, gifts, media coverage, hall and decor, to validate their care and acknowledgement of our patients and our organisation. Thank you to the kids of a children's home, "Foundation of Love" for serving our patients and brightening the hall with their radiant hand made centre pieces adding colour and excitement to our celebration." said a spokesperson.
Laudium Cancer Care volunteers gave special thanks to Noorjehan Cassim, Zubeida Dockrat, Rashida Ebrahim, Nazira Suliman and Dr Solly Ebrahim for their years of dedication and inspiration, together with all other members.
Where as cancer dicates the formation and spread of a disease of the cells, in reality it also alters the mindset of some of the patients to an extent of despair.
The goal of the volunteers is to help prepare the mind, through continuous gatherings throughout the year by reminding patients that there is a whole community behind them, helping the organisation to strengthen their souls for what lies ahead.
"Thanks to everyone for their input, involvement, time, effort and loyalty, we need and appreciate your sincere and continued support to brighten the lives of the patients in Our Community".
