The Velmore Hotel and Conference Venue outside Erasmia has suddenly closed due to structural damage on the property.
According to Orion Hotels Marketing Manager, Antoinette Kleyn, “Orion Hotel Group was letting out the premises, the damage was caused due to the recent flooding in the area. I cannot comment on whether the lease was expired and if we will be back after the repairs.”
“All we know for now is that the hotel is under reconstruction. We have no clue to when it will reopen.”
A few residents who had booked the conference venue for upcoming weddings were perturbed when the news got out. Orion hotels said they will refund monies to all those who have paid.
Calls to the landlord of the property, Emiel Kauser were unsuccessful.
